History
Grouper’s Waterfront Seafood Restaurant was started by Takeshi Takahashi in 2003. The restaurant used to be called Mulligan’s Waterfront Bar and Grill. Grouper’s features live entertainment on the outside deck on some weekends and serves a full restaurant and bar menu both indoors and out. The outside deck and tent is a popular place for wedding receptions, birthday parties and other large gatherings.
Chef Biography

Bridget Lister is one of the main chefs at Grouper’s. She started cooking at Mulligan’s in 1992 and has continued on with Grouper’s since 2003. But Bridget learned how to cook from her grandmother long before she started cooking in restaurants. She has been taught that “the way to love someone is with your cooking”. Bridget practices this everyday and has a strong following of regular customers.
Grouper’s is known for having several excellent chefs who excel in preparing seafood, steaks, chicken and pasta. Grouper’s prepares a variety of foods well and the early bird specials from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. are a tremendous value.
Owner Biography

Takeshi Takahashi is the owner of Grouper’s Waterfront Seafood Restaurant. He was born in Japan and moved to Hawaii where he attended college. “Taki” as he is affectionately called, worked at Hyatt Hotels and owned “Seasons” Restaurant in Richmond for 10 years before opening Grouper’s on the waterfront in Elizabeth City.

- Gouper's for some Seafood!
I heard from some cruising friends about this great little locally owned seafood place. So when we stopped in Elizabeth City, we just had to give it a shot! The place had so many options for the sorts of seafood, and great classic sides to go with it, along with some more unusal options.
