Known as the Pembroke Marina for 25 years, Jim Hale purchased the restaurant and marina in January, 2010 and changed the name to Bayside Marina & Grill. Since then, he has upgraded the restaurant, improved the menu, increased the number of homemade foods and attracted numerous new customers.

Chef Biography

Bayside Marina & Grill

Carol Spence is the manager and chief cook at the Bayside Marina & Grill. She has been cooking since she learned from her mother as a girl. Her homemade chicken salad sells out most days so get there early if you want some. Daily specials bring regulars back to eat and include Flounder and Shrimp on Fridays. Other specials are  Roast Beef, Pork Chops, Shrimp, and the 8 ounce hamburger steak. The special 5 ounce Bayside Burger is a hearty favorite. Breakfasts are cooked to order and include huge omelets.

Bayside Marina & Grill

Jim Hale grew up in Edenton and travelled widely as a veteran of the armed forces. He was the successful owner of two other businesses before purchasing the restaurant. He has loved making improvements to the restaurant and has listened to his customers to be sure he is creating the food and atmosphere they enjoy. Jim loves fishing and the outdoors, and sponsors numerous fishing tournaments each year. More than anything, Jim loves being around people and helping them in his restaurant, tackle shop or just talking about where the fish are biting.

    They are good people here. It's also a great place to start your fishing with a great meal. They will bag it up if you want to take your food out on your boat.
