History
The Golden Skillet opened in 1978. Gerri Walker worked all aspects of the business and in 2000 bought the restaurant from her boss David Shields. The restaurant was completely re-modeled by Gerri’s husband William, and is now a beautiful and spacious place to dine. The Golden Skillet provides delicious food including complete family dinners at low prices. Gerri will cater your next event at the restaurant or at a location of your choice.
Chef Biography
Gerri Walker has cooked at the Golden Skillet since she was 19 years old. She was trained in the art of southern home style cooking and prepares wonderfully delicious meals. She has passed her trade secrets on to others at the Golden Skillet who prepare homemade foods including biscuits, roasted chicken, meatloaf, chicken pastry, steaks, ribs, seafood, collards, corn nuggets and sweet potato fries. Daily specials add to the variety of food you will enjoy at the Golden Skillet.
Owner Biography
Gerri has loved cooking and serving people her entire life. You will find Gerri working hard at the restaurant from morning through the evening. Golden Skillet is a labor of love for Gerri and her family. Her husband William makes sure all of the equipment is operating smoothly. Gerri’s younger son works at the restaurant regularly. Her oldest son is in the armed services and plans to return to help operate the restaurant. Gerri feels blessed to have a wonderful husband, wonderful children and a successful restaurant that meets the needs of so many customers.
