The Lone Goose Steakhouse is an oasis in the country on route 94 in Fairfield, North Carolina. Located within view of The Lake Mattamuskeet  National Wildlife Refuge, The Lone Goose Steakhouse is a popular eatery for locals, travelers, hunters, fishermen and birdwatchers. It is at The Lone Goose Steakhouse that both small parties and large take respite from their activities to relax with some excellent food, drinks and fellowship. The Lone Goose Steakhouse is owned and operated by the Giibbs Family. In October 2010, they gave the restaurant a fresh look and it soon became known as the place to eat “down east” in North Carolina. People drive to The Lone Goose Steakhouse for tasty food with thirst quenching drinks and then enjoy the beauty and nature of Hyde County. Bird watching, fishing, water sports and hunting bear and waterfowl attract visitors from many parts of the United States ….and one thing is for sure – they all return to The Lone Goose Steakhouse again and again for great steaks, seafood, drinks and homemade desserts. The fine reputation of The Lone Goose Restaurant was the subject of an exceptionally complementary article in the Down East Magazine.

Hattie has been cooking up scrumptious meals for over thirty one years.  She has perfected family recipes and takes a major role in cooking at The Lone Goose Steakhouse. Becca uses her fourteen years in the retail food business and her lifelong love of cooking to prepare delicious meals you will be talking about to all of your friends and loved ones. The seafood is freshly caught by local commercial fisherman and cooked to perfection. The rib eyes are juicy and cooked as you like them. The home style dinners will delight your palate. The homemade desserts are to die for.  The writer of this narrative ordered the fried chicken. It was the most tender and least greasy fried chicken I have had in my life. This is because of the time tested recipe and the love that Hattie and Becca put into preparing each meal.  

Owner Biography

The Lone Goose Steakhouse

The Gibbs family owns and operates The Lone Goose Restaurant. They are a successful team drawing on each other’s gifts to create a wonderful dining experience for their guests.  Chris has been a farmer most of his life and operated a successful long hauler truck for five years. Deanna is a recent business graduate from college and often takes over the bar tending responsibilities. Becca worked at Dollie’s Lakeside Restaurant for three years and then owned and operated a delicatessen for eleven years before applying her skills at The Lone Goose Steakhouse. Together they have created an excellent restaurant you, your friends and your family will love.
