The Out Back Kitchen is a Bakery, a Bistro, a Caterer and a Personal Chef. The Bakery and Bistro is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch, breads and pastries.  Freshly baked breads, cakes and pastries will delight your entire family. Seasonal fresh fruit and produce offer healthy options. The Outback Kitchen also offers vegetarian and gluten free food. Sandwiches, paninis, smoked fish cakes and specials made daily will delight your palate. The Out Back Kitchen, Bakery and Bistro is located in the Food Lion Plaza on Highway 12 in Avon.


The Out Back Kitchen also makes specialty cakes for any occasion. Some of their creative designs are sand castle cakes, red drum fish shaped cakes and cupcake towers. Bring your idea for a custom cake. A great tasting cake is the wonderful finish to a scrumptious meal.

History

The Out Back Kitchen started as a mobile catering business on Hatteras Island in 2007. Kylie Simpson and her staff travelled the island catering large parties and small and providing personal chef services to the satisfaction of visitors to Hatteras. The success of Kylie’s business caused her to expand, and in March 2011 she opened a The Out Back Bakery and Bistro.

Kylie Simpson graduated from the Culinary Institute of Australia. She is a certified Commercial Chef and has served as a professional chef for over twenty-five years. Kylie has been the head chef for many acclaimed individuals including the President of Turkey.  She has travelled the world serving creative and delicious meals.

Out Back Kitchen Bakery & Bistro

J.R.  Francis and Kylie Simpson own The Outback Kitchen.  They met travelling and knew they wanted to open a restaurant that would offer a variety of services to locals and travelers.  Kylie’s years of training and experience as a world travelled professional chef and  J.R.Francis’s business acumen combine to give you a unique Outer Banks dining experience.
