Track 1 Restaurant was established in Camden in 1980. Jon and Amy Merritt acquired ownership of Track 1 in 1997 and soon turned it into a favorite meeting place for locals and travelers alike.  Offering a full menu from seafood to steaks, Track 1 has long been known as a friendly place for locals and travelers alike. Tack I has  been the favorite restaurant  for members of the Camden High School Football Team and their coaches, with the ten ounce Bruin Burgers going fast at 3:00 on Friday afternoons.  Travelers from central North Carolina and Virginia have made Track 1 their place to eat over and over again.

Owner Biography

Track 1 Restaurant

Owners  Jon and Amy Merritt prepare most of the meals at Track 1. This ensures that their “home cookin’ style” comes out in each delicious dish. Jon bakes light and fluffy fresh bread daily. He has been an excellent cook his entire life, winning several awards including first place at the Wild Game Cookoff  at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. His special creation for the competition was “Oyster’s Bienville”.

Amy exclaims “I can beat Jon on some homemade dishes”.  Amy has over eighteen years of experience in the restaurant business. Jon and Amy’s experience along with the care they put into each meal makes for delicious dining on soups, appetizers, fresh seafood and steaks.  The “Ultimate Chicken” is a full chicken breast smothered with bacon, cheddar cheese and honey mustard dressing.  A choice of three to four home baked cakes including hot fudge cake, carrot cake, chocolate cream pie and brownie delight will have you telling all of your friends how great the food is at Track 1.

    Good Food

I had the ribeye with mashed potatoes and lima beans. It was a lot of food and it was cooked perfectly. I love grilled steaks. Their bread is fresh and tasty. It was a good meal at a reasonable price.

    Good Home Cooking

Three of us went to Track I and loved the friendly people and good home cooking. The portions were large and the food was cooked well. I especially loved the trout and the lima beans.
